Speak to your GP about whether your child is eligible for any of the following.
A Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan can be prepared by your local General Practitioner (GP). Under a CDM plan you can access rebates for five (5) visits per calendar year.
For clients who are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, a plan can be prepared by your local General Practitioner (GP). Under this plan you can access rebates for five (5) visits per calendar year.
Speech Pathologists can provide up to four sessions of assessment to assist a referring medical practitioner in making a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder for children under the age of 13 years. These sessions must be approved in writing by a referring Paediatrician or Psychiatrist.
Speech Pathologists can provide up to 20 sessions of early intervention to a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. These sessions must be approved in writing by a Paediatrician. To be eligible the child must be under 15 years of age with a diagnosis of Autism that was provided before 13 years of age.
